On October 15, 2025, I had the opportunity to take part in the Circus & Halloween Themed Photowalk hosted by Leslie Kelley Photography at the iconic Wheeler Ferris Wheel in Oklahoma City — a landmark venue that transforms beautifully after sunset. From 5:30 PM to 8:45 PM, the atmosphere shifted from golden-hour glow to full-on twilight spectacle, giving photographers an evolving canvas of light, shadow, and mood to play with.
This was far more than a casual meetup — it felt like entering a living, breathing film set.
As evening fell, the Wheeler District lit up with neon carnival lights, dramatic shadows, and richly stylized character performances. Models arrived in everything from vintage circus fashion to gothic couture, modern glam, and eerie Halloween reinterpretations — blending high fashion, storytelling, and theatrical presence. Some channeled dramatic fortune teller energy, others embraced ringmaster elegance or masked trickster personas straight out of a surreal carnival dream. The variety of themes made every corner of the venue feel like its own cinematic scene.
Photographers explored every angle imaginable — from long-exposure light trails and silhouette work against the Ferris wheel, to tight expressive portraiture, to atmospheric environmental storytelling using the carnival architecture, vendor stands, and reflective surfaces. The photowalk encouraged experimentation, pushing everyone beyond their usual comfort zones into more editorial, narrative-driven, and mood-heavy imagery.
What made the evening especially memorable was the strong sense of collaboration and creative exchange. I had the chance to work with several new models and local photographers, each bringing unique visual direction and style. In a world where so much of our creative work happens behind screens, this in-person artistic environment felt rare — fully immersive, energizing, and inspiring.
This photowalk wasn’t just about capturing beautiful images — it was about exploring Oklahoma’s evolving creative scene, where storytelling, character design, and visual mood are just as important as technical execution. The resulting collection of photographs reflects autumn emotion, carnival nostalgia, and Halloween elegance, blending playfulness with cinematic suspense.
If you’re someone who loves conceptual portraiture, fantasy-inspired fashion, or atmospheric lighting, this gallery will feel like stepping into the middle of a short film. Every frame carries its own narrative — some mysterious, some whimsical, some darkly beautiful. It’s a celebration of imagination, collaboration, and the power of location-based storytelling.
